We are currently looking for a Part – time cook to join our Cafeteria team. We provide our students with scratch made nutritious meals 3 times daily, 7 days a week. Duties will include all aspects of food preparation and some basic cooking, as directed by the chefs, food service and customer service. Job Duties:

• Prepare, season and cook food as directed, meeting dietary requirements where required
• Assist chefs and waitstaff as required, especially during peak hours
• Follow recipes and presentation specifications
• Escalate major issues when necessary (e.g. safety risks, equipment failure)
• Operate standard kitchen equipment safely and efficiently
• Oversee kitchen operations
• Maintain inventory and record of food, supplies and equipment
• Clean and maintain station in practicing good safety and sanitation
• Operate an industrial dishwasher, washing dishes and glassware by hand when necessary
• Other duties as requested

Schedule: Thursday & Friday afternoon, and Saturday or Sunday, 18-25 hours/week, no evening shift.

Hourly rate: $19 – $21/hour

Qualifications:

• Culinary Diploma or Certificate is preferred.
• Must have a Valid food handlers certificate.
• Must be available on weekends, Thursday and Friday afternoon, more availability is preferable.
• 2-3 years of experience is preferred.
• Must work well independently, but also strong team player.
• Must obtain a vulnerable sector screening check as part of background check.
